Starvation

Postby Schattengaenger » Sat Jul 14, 2018 5:41 pm

Hello fellow Hearthlings,

I am currently working on a special palisade and was burning through alot of energy with my two "main" chars ...
I guess I must have been distracted by a conversation or something else, but after I tabbed back into the client my charater was below 2000% energy and starving... for a while.
If I recall correctly I had suffered 174 HHP of starvation damage befor I noticed and stuffed his mouth with anythign eatable at my haven.
I posponed any work for him until he is better (since his total HHP are around 280). I let him eat to full energy and let the bed do its wonderes ...
Except it didn'T do much. Checkt him every day afterwards and the starvation is going down with a staggering speed of 1-2 HHP/RL-day :|
After I gave it a little thought I suspected my hunger level might have to do something with it so I filled his hunger with wild berries and other stuff to full (arround 60%)

The following 3 days I had him rest non-stop, but I haven't recovered a single point of HHP.
So my Question is: Is starvation damage only to a certain extent healable?

- sincerely, Manny.

This.

The mouseover on the energy bar must say 'healing', else it won't happen.

Also to note that the "hunger" bar on the character sheet is only for an eating (FEP) modifier. The more you eat at a time, the less benefit it has to you. It has no effect on healing or other aspects of the game.

I'm still convinced that 'hunger' should be renamed 'appetite' and 'energy' to 'nutrition level' (or something along that, making clear that it's vital to health and the connection to healing obvious).

Why?
Most people who play HnH dont know enough english to realize the difference between the two anyway.

1) 'Most' is not 'all', not by far
2) Google Translate (or whatever will replace it when google implodes) will get better with time

Another good point is that using appropriately named labels helps with proper translation.

I am sorry if I wasn't clear enough, but the energy meter in the UI never fell under 8000% after I ate to stop starving. I have been "in the green" since a week and sleeping in a Q52 bed. But in the past 3 days I haven't recovered any HHP
