Camomile Compress used the gauze already applied to wound

hi

sorry if this has already been addressed, but i didn't find any relevant thread.

i was crafting a camomile compress - had the ingredients in my inventory, but i also had a gauze already tied around my fell slash wound. the recipe took the gauze from my head rather than from my inventory.

that would all be fine - gauze is not that hard to come by...but now my fell slash wound is not healing any and it doesnt let me put on a new gauze either. what can i do? i assume the root will heal it but i think there should be a way to remove a gauze from the wound at any time (especially if its not there in the first place).

will add that gauze is considered a hat so cannot complete swim naked quest until it's on.

Gauze probably shouldn't be a head item anymore because it is used to heal a variety of injuries, not the only way to heal as in earlier versions.

Crafting probably shouldn't have even looked at the equipped items until nothing was found in inventory. I'd say "it shouldn't even look at equipment," but the crafting process needs to see if there are filled buckets in the player's hands. Maybe that can be done without any other pieces of equipment being used to craft. Better to intentionally remove an item to craft with it since it's likely an obscure scenario to want to use an item there, anyway. (Again, not counting buckets filled with something.)
