We need more to work with. What operating system are you using? What Java version? Do you have multiple versions of Java installed (and if so, what versions, and is it configured properly)? What hardware are you running on? We don't necessarily need all the above information, but it can help to pinpoint the problem. What client are you using? We only handle issues with the default client here. Issues with modded clients need to be taken up with the person that did the programming in The Wizards' Tower.

I don't recall seeing this report anywhere on the forums previously. I'm strictly a volunteer here and not a part of the development team, so it might be something loftar can put his finger on. I'm guessing the odds are it's a client mod causing the problem. I could be completely wrong, too, but the account listing on the left says it's not standard.

As an FYI, if you get a text box where you can't drag-select the text, you can always click the text area, press Ctrl+a to Select All, Ctrl+c to copy to clipboard, and then paste into whatever application that you want.

He's using Windows 10 64 bit, Java 1.8.0_181, has a GTX 1070 using driver version 416.34 (which seems to be rather recent), and is using Amber based on the login saving feature as well as not having the server status indicator that mine has. To troubleshoot, you should try to log in and move around with the default client like Magic said.

Unfortunately, that thread linked isn't going to be much help as the problem was with Apple's version of Java (and have no idea if the issue was completely resolved as I don't use Macs). The best that can be suggested at this point by anyone is to make sure of two things:

A) Java is installed correctly. Follow Oracle's instructions for doing a clean install of Java: https://java.com/en/download/help/manual_regedit.xml This would also include using a standard release version of Java and not a beta or development version. Java has also recommended using CCleaner in the past, but there were some issues with a possible security risk. Any reputable system clean-up and uninstall utility should work.

B) Make sure Haven has installed correctly. Java's download utilities doesn't include any sort of integrity verification, so things might have corrupted when downloading to your system. You might need to clean out any parts of Haven from your computer.

Beyond this is outside of my knowledge.

@Ardennesss: eh... I got busy writing the canned response instead of actually looking. Thanks.

You go through the steps of doing a clean removal of Java before reinstalling in case there's an issue with corrupted files or registry entries. Simply uninstalling and reinstalling won't always fix the problem. The benefit of running a clean-up utility is it may clean up other parts of the computer and help the whole thing run faster. (I generally recommend people run these once every six months or after cleaning out a bunch of old, unused apps or games.)

None of us are Java experts, we can't really answer that for you. I think Magic is giving the correct advice, try to purge every trace of Java and reinstall.
