Fishing Gives Questionable Items

I was fishing in deep ocean water and received some questionable items including ant pupae, fresh squirrel hide and birch bark.

You have a chance to fish up random junk that people have thrown in the water. Not a bug.

I see, does this mean that all players will receive items from the same pool of junk when fishing from the ocean?

From any water. Note that you only get junk on a "fail" event when fishing. It won't keep you from catching your fish.
