defeat a badger quest task is bugged

I defeated a badger but it didn't count for my quest

I've done that twice to make sure Im not wrong!!! its either the quest task that is bugged or the quest itself, I don't know

Just killed two badgers as well - did not complete the quest for me.

Did you personally land the final hit? (ie if you were fighting in a group did YOU kill it and not a member of your group)
Also if you have another quest to defeat a badger, or you have to defeat more than one, you might just have to defeat more.
I finished a defeat a badger quest not 10 minutes ago without problems

yes, noone needs help for a single badger, but it's not a problem for me any longer as im doing other things now (and if my memory is correct it was fixed, though I could be wrong), maybe it was the quest itself that was bugged? honestly I have no idea about such things, but I think it was just fine in credo quests, it didn't work in some non-credo quest I have done some time ago
and no the quest asked to kill a single badger

Not sure. I have had some odd interactions with quests myself, but I'm not sure I want to chase this ghost without more of a lead. Let me know if it happens again.

I have seen this several times. In my case, I learned that if the opponent bleeds to death you do not get the credit for the quest.
I had to hunt boars 4 times and beavers twice thanks to this.

"A auroch" (heh) doesn't give credit if bled to death as well. Intentionally, I guess, the looming certainty of doom being the one who defeated poor beast, not the player.

Might be tied to the same thing as who gets the combat discovery, etc. when an animal is defeated. I'll bet my income for the month of January on that one.

January, as usual, was a goose egg, so no, I'm not actually betting anything.
