I logged into my account normally and was met with a new character set up and even when logging out and trying again I was forced back to the wizard and the lake and all that. After the next retry i managed to get into my old character who is perfectly alive.

I'm mid way through inheriting a claim from a now inactive player so if i died there would be no way for an ancestor to get into my base
