disappearing ore stockpile

Postby Turtlesir » Sat Feb 23, 2019 6:53 pm

i put an ore stockpile close to where i was mining. it was on the same tile you can see the stockpile on the pic. the tiles i mined are highlighted. after mining those 2 tiles i noticed the stockpile had mysteriously disappeared.

i vaguely recall some bug with natural caverns opening up after mining a tile not behaving properly, back in world 8. is that what this was? (still, three worlds later?)

How much ore was in there? Could have been a decay hit if it was only a few pieces...

Natural gallery would have given you an experience. Did you get one?

Decay, or too much weed. Not sure what a gallery would do, but I think you'd have at least some tiles opened had you had one.

I did observe early in this world that rock stockpiles seem to decay extremely fast. I had 4+ completely full stockpiles of stone disappear overnight that I had planned to use for paving. They were on a claim, but not on paved terrain.

If the claim was active either the "decay" had to use wheelbarrows or there was a an animal involved in combat nearby.

Pavement should still absorb a bit of the decay hit, lessening it. IIRC.
