Wild Horse quest bug

Postby Sprymazi » Tue Mar 05, 2019 7:34 pm

I have a quest where I have to kill a wild horse. When I killed it it didn't give me any quest progress. I'm fairly sure it was full HP too since it's on our little island that noone ever goes to, i hit it for at least 250 my own damage.

EDIT, I didn't hunt it in a party, i was solo killing it.

Possible its last damage was bleeding? Then it doesn't count either I believe.

It was running away from me when dying so it probably died of bleeding yes. So weird that it doesn't give any quest progress though. Like the bleeding damage is not linked to my character somehow..

It didn't die of passive bleeding after combat either, it just started running and i was still in combat with it :/

Yeah being in combat is irrelevant for this, last hit needs to be from you, and bleeding from your wound and then dying does not count.

I feel it should be different too but I think in mechanics as they are now, not a bug.

It doesn't give LP and combat discoveries either. I agree it is sort of counter-intuitive. Not sure if it is intended as some guard system against some abuse or just an oversight.

last patch implemented a change to this, now the animal belong to the person who atack it last - not sure how it translates into LP/move/quest gains

As I read it the latest change just makes you pick up your prey from somebody else's claim without leaving scents. Actually after reading it in patch notes yesterday I immediately thought about bleeding-damage-running-away deaths and how it is still an issue even with that change... Have not verified it yet though. Would be glad to be proven wrong but I keep my doubts for now.

yea that's why i am not really sure because most of the patch notes are as vague as they can be - but aren't we used to it by now :D
