Bugged Guano Pile

So today I mined a tunnel to nearby cavern and discovered Guano Pile

Sadly it was empty and inspection told me to return in 4 days.
The only live creatures beside me was a couple of louses, but I strongly doubt they existed there from the start of the world eating that precious shit.
So Im still confused - where all the guano gone?
English is neither my native lang, nor my best side...

that's L3 enclosed area.

He doesn't mention what cave lvl it's on, so if it was on lvl 1 there are 4 spots I see that could be potential entrances.. So no, not detailed enough.

Perhaps thats how they made that stuff work to stop new world rush for those fresh resources - upon being seen once by someone they only just get created/start producing
