For the Ancestors! - Fish

Hi.
My ancestors demand something, that is simply labeled as "Fish".
However they do not accept any fish I have, neither as fish nor butchered filets.

Any idea what is actually asked for?

They are asking for a fooditem labeled as fish. I agree that it could be clearer.

Would it be cool if ancestors ask for certain item with a riddle? Or by drawing its crude image in sand or ashes, in forms of entrails of sacrificed animals or tin divination, or some other mystical way?

Cool idea.
In Dwarf Fortress when a dwarf falls into mood he starts muttering something about forests if he wants wood, something about death if he wants bones and so on. (For his artifact construction)
Something similar would be nice in HnH.
