My body disappeared after meeting with the troll

I was fortunate enough to meet a troll in a mine. He killed my character, but when I returned to the scene of the murder, I found that my body was gone and all my things were somewhere behind the wall.
Is it possible to return my body?

Do trolls eat bodies? Is this not a bug?

I think it was a bug because all my clothes, after death, shifted by a few cells to the side, into the wall, I had to dig them out

IIRC: Bodies, when vanishing, still can explode their inventory/equipment into void tiles or inside hitboxes of immobile objects.
That IMHO would be a bug: while this happening in a mine where you can dig the items out is only breaking suspension of disbelief... it happening in a house where you can't dig is something else.

Though that a troll destroys bodies... isn't a bug, AFAIK.

Speaking about this situation - there's a lot of strange things.

1. Troll spawned and instantly killed you? He must wait some time by just hitting his chest with his hands. This time is enough to run far away.
2. Troll killed you? That's strange because for all my cases he leaves 15-25% of HP. Haven't you tried to fight him again?
3. Troll destroyed body? They are not destroying anything, if it is not blocking his way to target during combat. I also blocked by mined trolls with rock stockpiles when i was cave hermit in previous world.

I have a suspicion that topic starter is not saying truth, or not explaining full information about his troll finding case.
Maybe you've just tried to kill him with your company, blocked him somehow, and he caused cave collapse on you, then destroyed body when tried to approach other your hommies?

1. I did not notice how I dug it. I was afk.
2. He made about 3 hits. The first knocked out my horse, the second and third blow hit me. After that, I was thrown into the character selection screen.
3. When I returned to this place with a twinkle, my body was already gone. There were no collapses. I was alone.

This is strange, because the troll did not eat my twinks. He just killed me and walked away.
At the time of death, a colorless deathscreen did not come out. I just threw it into the character selection window.
There was something wrong.

Yes, probably was aggroed both on player and horse, after knocking/killing a player, wanted to get to the horse, but body was blocking, so he's just destroyed a corpse.
