Would it be theft to take it off the claim you placed it on? Or do you have theft permissions otherwise and just have the visitor flag because it's not "your claim" or a member of the village?

That I know of (and I'm making a best guess based on past experience... like old Haven), it's theft based on the claim it's at, not the tagged theft scent you left elsewhere. I can't say for certain that not having permissions on the claim (thus visitor blocking you from stealing) or the cupboard itself being stolen property would block it.

as i know lifted items are linked with someone who lift (and horses) so you can do anything with them , for example: take cupboard to the market, place it on market claim and use it, an lift it again.
but when cupboard are lifted with no permissions its not links with you , even you leave the claim and leave the scent. so you have to put it somewhere where its not criminal to lift, and only after that you will be able to take it to the market claim and interact with it
