Well yep, I tried do it yesterday and today, but it seems you have to wait for "Abadon Credo" to show up, which is below "Abadon Quest" so it's not intuitive.

Abandoning the quest abandons the quest. Abandoning the credo abandons the credo. That seems intuitive to me.

In the future, it might easier to simply refer the person to the Announcements section and say "That was recently updated. Check the patch notes." I know, I know... it's a bit harder than just spamming BS in bugs, but it is infinitely more helpful.
