Visitor Buff Not Working in Village Claim with Vistor Gates

Postby mcben2332 » Sat May 23, 2020 12:57 pm

I put a Village Claim in an existing pallisade with visitor gates. The visitor gates buff is applied when an unknown walks through as indicated by the icon, but they can do anything in the village ......anything. The buff doesn't apply and is not working.

Does your village have authority?
Is the permission correctly set? ~ make sure to not give any checkboxs to the white group.
Does your village have a lawspeaker?

I am the lawspeaker. I have white and I am the single resident of the village.......... I am well over 150K but not at full 250K in authority on the idle. When a random person comes in through the gates the buff activates as indicated by the icon but does not take effect and that random person can perform any action.

Basically what I think the problem is .........is that the visitor gates that were present there before I built my village idol do not recognize my village claim. The pallisade was build by someone else and they had a village claim before I destroyed it and built mine. (they abandoned it and it no authority) Is this a bug or intended?

The white group is the permissions given to people not in your village. So if you've given full rights to white, you've given full rights to everyone.

Lawspeaker has all permissions, no matter what group he's in. So you don't need to restrict one group for that.

Yeah, I totally screwed up and I was convinced I had it right....despite reading the wiki and previous posts. Lesson learned ..........my advice to novice players who are just setting up a village for the first time ..........test your visiting gates and make sure these permissions are set correctly .......I didn't realize my permissions were whacked until someone walked off with my bee larvae ........thanks alot!
