Bug with finery forge

If you fill the furnace for steel and set it on fire, then wait until the steel is ready, you may have fuel left in the furnace and the furnace will burn, but if you remove the additional coal from two cells, the progress of the next steel that you throw will not go will be.

There's a difference between "fuel" (which can be anything used to burn) and "coke" in the steel crucible. Fuel cannot be removed. If you remove the coking coal from crucible early, it will always reset the process. If you complete a batch of steel, the coking coal is consumed when the steel finishes, and thus should not be able to be removed. I'd like to be able to resolve any confusion here, but I'm not sure I am getting what is going wrong here. I don't suspect there is an actual bug in the process else someone else would have posted well before now.
