In the default client, the hotkey for toggling the UI is customizable, and there is no key for it set by default. If you haven't set a hotkey for it, you shouldn't be able to hide the UI to begin with, however, so I'm left wondering if you hid it in your custom client which does have a hotkey set by default, and then just couldn't unhide it in the default client simply because you haven't set any hotkey for it.

Ender didn't implement the custom keybind settings, which is why it still uses the spacebar hotkey for it.
