Clicking Play Doesnt Work

Postby lucqe » Thu Mar 25, 2021 1:14 am

So i have an account with this site that I haven't played on in a while. I have 3 characters. When I login and click 'play' on any of my characters cards, nothing happens and eventually i get logged out and have to log back in. I've tried redownloading the launcher, i've tried logging out and back in, and I tested if it'd work on another account (it does). I don't know whats wrong here.

Could be something within view of the other characters that is causing the client to appear to hang if the same object(s) aren't within view of any character on that account. Are they all logged out in the same area? You could try flushing out the cache by deleting the appropriate directory tree. In Windows, that would be "%appdata%\Haven and Hearth". If you care to keep your map cache, be sure to back it up first. You might also try removing whichever client link you're using to run Haven and using a fresh copy.

Could be a network issue, too, but if it's only a problem with one account and not another, it's not likely.

Looking at the logs, the server thinks your connection is timing out, meaning it's not receiving any data from you (not even the client's automatic background keep-alive messages) for a prolonged period. As such, it's almost guaranteed to be some sort of network issue, though I'm not sure I can really think of any particular problem that would cause this to happen only once you're logged in. I'd look into firewall settings, router settings, or just try to play from a different location to see if it's the computer or the router that is the issue, or such things.
