mouse lag

i see it with the default client and ender

when you move the mouse, the cursor in game lags behind a bit , its not jittery, but theres definitely a delay.

is there some way to configure the mouse settings to move like a mouse normally moves?

Because this bug is specifíc to linux AWt etc. some custom clients offer option to disable hardware cursor which helps a bit.

To be more precise, the reason this happens on Linux is that the X11 backend for Java AWT doesn't support more than monochrome custom cursors, so the client needs to draw the cursor in software, making it subject to input latency.

You can, however, reduce the input latency generally by adjusting the "Frame Sync mode" in the video options. I myself have taken to use "CPU-sequential" most of the time, as I find it offers a reasonable compromise between latency and performance. It does however indeed decrease performance compared to the default option, so you'll have to evaluate for yourself whether the drop in performance is worth it for you on your hardware.

Thank you, this helped.
It looks like cpu/gpu offers the best
Could a monochrome cursor option be possibly implemented in the client for linux users?

Perhaps, but honestly, I'd rather see Java just fix this problem.

You don't have to, 2 colors is enough for the cursor. I don't notice any difference between "tex" and "awt" mode, unless I specifically stare at the cursor. But people don't do that, the cursor is just a tool that assists the brain in knowing where the next click goes, no one actually looks at it.

I'd say the game actually being playable is infinitely more important than the cursor having some 5 extra colors.
The thing is, thanks to the rendering rewrite the game would actually work on notebooks with integrated graphics (which many people have), but definitely not with the default "tex" mode.

It's already been years like this, no point in waiting for it anymore.
