Is there a way to fix this? It's quite annoying having text all over my minimap.

That is not normally the case. If this isnät a custom client, did you do anything in particular to make it happen?

So this is the default client, however I've used custom clients in the past that had movable UI functions, could this be the cause? If so is there a way to revert this?

Shouldn't be, the default client doesn't use any stored preference for the placement of the quick-quest view. Does not even logging out and back in again help?

I was able to fix this by toggling the quest on and off in the Quest Logs window (clicking on the name of the quest twice)
