despawning horses

I have 2 to places to tame horses - one: hitching post next to hf and houses - everything is ok
Second place is at the edge of village (full claim, palisade). I "roped" 3 horses to hitching post (3 difrent) t there and every one despawned. Last one after 2h. No one took them.

Did you least them back into Hitching Posts after beating them?

One possibility: you need to move the hitching post. If the animal is standing in one map section, and the hitching post is in another, the animal poofs if the map unloads. Fencing them in so they don't wander around will help, as they can move quite a few tiles away from a post.

They are fenced and stil despawn. I moved second part of posts to onother location from dirt (only explenation why they despawn) - will see if it help.

Confirmed - dirt makes animals despawn during taming.

I have problem with disappearing horses too. There is no dirt in my pen... I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Can't say for sure whether this is related but I've experienced wild horses disappearing (that weren't in the process of being tamed) after entering a house and exiting while leaving the horse outside. One time I was only inside for a few seconds before going back out and in that time the area must have unloaded or whatever else is happening to cause them to vanish because the horse was gone.

My horses were pinned to hitching posts.

I know why they disapered.
If Your hitching post is near local map border - they vanish.

Open map and display map borders (red lines in ender) to be sure.
