got knocked out by a boar when in a cave

i don't know if it is intentional now that the animal can reach me through these small caves (these like one-room small cave things spread out in the wild) - i got attacked by a boar but didnt want to fight it so i hid in one of these and wanted to wait out the aggro and still after the aggro disappeared I ended up lying on the ground with 7 points of concussion and no red life to speak of, which is weird because normally when an animal knocks you out you have much more wounds. also the cave thingy disappeared. has anyone else encountered this problem?
just a day earlier i did the same thing with a deer and there was no problem - are boars more vicious and can destroy these mini caves or something like that?

I can't remember what they are called. Dens? Burrows? They are destroyable by both players and animals so what may have occurred with the boar is that it was much closer to you when you hid inside and it moved to where you entered and started destroying it while you were inside of it. If they are broken while you are inside, you get knocked out. Could have just been luckier with the deer and it was further away when you managed to get inside the hole so it stopped moving before it got close enough to break it.
