Miner's credo "well mined" bug

Postby Makzul78 » Wed Apr 21, 2021 10:49 pm

About 1/4 of the ore I mine out does not get the "well mined" buff, and my theory is that it conflicts with the "Chance to pulverize tiles when mining" from the same credo. I don't know what was changed this world, but this bug certainly did not occur last world.

New idea: the unbuffed ore comes from the ore boulders that occasionally spawn when you mine a tile.

It's a boulder. No boulders get the "well mined" tag. There's a discussion on this already in C&I. viewtopic.php?f=48&t=70521

i'm not sure if it's considered a bug or a feature request, but at this point, I am inclined to think it's the latter. It has been discussed since the feature was added a few months ago.

why would you only link to C&I and not also my virtually-zero-engagement-so-it-won't-be-addressed-any-time-soon bugs post, it reflects your bias in your viewpoint

feels 100% like a bug, so at this point even if its deliberate its worth being looked at. not sure why exactly we're able to spawn boulders of ore at all if they're functionally useless. at least the stone ones, despite inconveniencing the fuck out of everyone and breaking autominers, don't actively get your hopes up.

I'm just telling you there's discussion on the matter, it's been pointed out to the devs, and your opinion on if it's a bug or feature request is just one voice on the matter... it's not the only one, just one of them. It well could be an oversight and that the boulders should have gotten it. It could be it's just not practical. it could be that boulders have certain benefits (such as quality, amount of pieces you can get from it) that normal mining methods don't get.

The only reason I didn't lock this or merge the threads, either to here or there, is that I don't know what the official opinion is.
