Stick Gate getting broken behind a Visitor Fence

Postby Roxaereon » Sat Nov 25, 2023 5:31 am

I don't know how they're doing it, but someone keeps getting into the base to have a look around by somehow being able to break a closed stick gate behind a visitor gate. It's no inside job as it's only me and my friends in the village and they haven't been logging in due to the winter season. White also has no perms on village.

Possibly using an animal to bash it? I know if you make an animal flee and it runs into an object it will destroy it to clear it's path...had an 'incident' involving an auroch and a glass pane frame.

They do. As animals are not effected or hindered by (open) visitor gates at all.

Beasts care not for hearthlaw.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

everyone is forgetting, unless the animal chasing someone who owns the claim, it can nolonger break things on claims.
It's why mammoth traps work...

I wouldn't be so sure, mammoth traps are usually set up with pclaims and it looks like the gate in OP's image is under a vclaim. Feel free to offer an explanation as to why this guys gate got smashed if it's not the work of a rampaging animal because I don't see how else it could be done.
