Credo quest bug?

I need to collect cave clays for the credo. i need 7 unit. lukly i spotted a good cave with a lot of it. But i notice somethign off:
when i collect it, not allways the counters go down. At first i though: must be cause ONE pile is counted as ONE no matter if give me 1 or 2 unito oif cave clays.
But THAN i go to a new fresh pile and get the ONE unit that spawn. The counter didnt move. so basically 7 pieces of cave clays are now 12..and im STILL on the same quest.

dont know if is a bug or something else but is consistent so far

I suspect you do not get credit if it is part of a stack?

was my same thought, but as said i also didnt get it from single one's.
is not very consistent. is like 1 does, 1 dont, 2 more did... and so on

I meant part of a stack in inventory. If you are holding one clay and you harvest another and it groups with the existing one. Not if you pick once and gain 2, but if the one you gain gets hidden in an inventory stack.

Or maybe I misunderstand you?

i pick one, than the other. it stack of course, but sometimes get counted and sometimes no.
since i was with zero clay in the inventory and pick up 3 and only 2 get counted, i think we can say thats was not the case. there isnt that much cave clay to keep try and experiment though ^_^'
