Error in mining regarding the quality of the stones

Postby certace » Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:24 pm

I am playing with a friend, although I am the miner, he helps me extend the underground spaces, the topic is the following:

I have 54 natural masonry and the equipment I am using gives me +9 (since it is my exploration equipment, not masonry) a q36 stone ax and a total mining power of 47

My friend has 30 natural masonry, he does not use equipment with masonry, a q36 ax and a total of 36 mining power

I told him to only mine the lowest quality rocks at 30 so we use the +40 ones for constructions, the thing is that I mark where there are q30 rocks and when mining them I get q18 stones, I go to mine and I get q30, We tried several stone nodes and they all gave it a q18/20, then I told him to go mine the rocks next to the descent to the cave, When I asked him what quality they were, he told me that they were quality 28, I went to mine them and they gave me q47 stones. Neither of them has any creed that has to do with mining, the axes are practically the same, but he gets lower quality stones even though he has enough masonry for this not to happen..

Does he have metal or tinker axe equipped as well? Those are also valid mining tools and the game prioritizes them over stone axe. If you have one of those in your belt then the game will automatically equip for the mining

I had a tinker ax made of lead, but I lost it without realizing it, we both used stone axes, we even exchanged axes

One thing I noticed is that when you start mining a tile it will retain its quality even if you change tools or masonry
