Study desk isn't being used sometimes now

I find this happening a fair amount too actually, Its kinda weird because I always assume that If I am not studying a curio or have enough space for it at that moment, it would be studied as soon as another curio has ran dry but I have noticed sometimes I refill my study and don't actually put the curio in my report, I can come back a while later and its not been eaten. even if I have mental weight/space and experience for it. Its happened a few times, like "Bruh I threw 10 feather trinkets in here and my study report is near empty but I don't have a feather trinket currently studying what happened. - its rare but I have certainly noticed it.

My only assumption is that curios only get replaced, IE if curio has finished and there isn't a replacement it will grab a new curio from the study but there might be like 5 curios in there that could fit in the report but it only replaces 1. Might give it ago, pretty sure I have seen 2 curios being popped in the report after 1 has finished before..

But does said alt actually study stuff from the desk at all? If yes then it's studying whatever you've already been studying and or what's more efficient, and studying a 4 slot christmas curio isn't very space efficient probably
