i don't think this is intended, using bark to fill a cauldron will make tanning fluid with the water inside the cauldron instead of feeding the fuel

For more effective tannin extraction it’s best to boil the bark rather than simply soaking it. Make it a feature. ¦]

Also tanning fluid does not have a cauldron graphic. Cauldrons full of tanning fluid appear to be empty instead.

If you still need to keep the fire going then you can use a bucket to remove the tanning fluid instead of dumping it.
