My only complaints about camera options are;
• Console command must be typed every session while using the vanilla client (is there a .ini file somewhere to edit this?)
• Non bindable middle mouse button - my mouse doesn't suck but it's middle button press engages scroll functions making it extremely frustrating to use ingame.
• Oversensitive rotation.

Cardinal orientation isn't so much of an issue once you rebind 'reset camera' to an easily accessable key (you'll be using it often). Also I like being required to watch biome shapes and landmarks to tell where I'm at.

I quite like isometric camera angles for their framing of scenes.

Just checking, are you aware of the
Code: Select all
:cam ortho -f
that gives you the default camera but it rotates freely instead of being locked into four cardinal directions?

"Oversensitive rotation" can be interpreted as either that, or "hold middle mouse button + move mouse" causes too much rotation per cursor distance.

There's that "time of day" -indicator on top of the game screen, I was thinking there should be a rotating widget around it with indicators for the cardinal directions and ability to click between free and locked rotation.

There is a cam option in the settings menu, which will be saved. (all clients)

True/False statements on there own are generally not that useful.
I figure that apparently not all console command are auto saved. Cam probably being one of those.

Ortho -f is great, thanks.
Oversentisive while using :cam bad - too much rotation per cursor distance. Renders it unusable especially when my mouse scrolls uncontrollably while rotating..

Thanks Mvgulik, sMartins :oops:
