I can't enter my own palisade gates while I'm in combat.

I can't enter my own palisade gates while I'm in combat.

So, I don't have Rage in my combat setup, but I can't enter my palisade gates while I'm in combat, either in PvE or PvP. What's the trick?
I've created an alt for sparring, and the alt can cross the gates while in combat, but I can't. I've tried the vanilla client, Ender and Hurricane, but the result is the same.

If you bought Rage, your character now has permanent, ever-present debuff on them. If you have any kind of active combat relation, whether it's PvE or PvP, It prevents going through a "heavy gate" (for most practical purposes, a Palisade Gate, but also includes Brickwall Gate and the Totemic Gate thing) .

Thank you — it seems like this is the issue. Although the skill description says, 'Acquiring rage removes your ability to move through gates...' I thought having rage stacks was a condition, not just the fact of purchasing the skill.

Well that sucks, and I'm glad I came across this thread. I just bought rage so I could make a dark effigy, to study for a credo.
I didn't notice that warning or I would have just abandoned that quest and not bought rage!
Still getting used to this one-gate thing. Wish I could un-buy rage

you probably knew deep down you fucked up when you bought rage since you keep calling it rage when its actually called bloodlust

Moved to 'Critique & Ideas'

=Factposting==
Unless Wiki is wrong/outdated, you need Rage to Unlock the Bloodlust maneuver. OP is most likely just conflating the two.

=Root issues=
-Buying Rage affects both PvP and PvE.
-Buying Rage is permanent debuff that can't be gotten rid off without dying, despite this there's zero extra confirmation on purchasing it (the easily overlooked warning text does not count).

=Potential (future) solution=
-Character state/buff that allows aggroing other players is changed to work more like 'Murderous Rage' in that it's not a permanent state, just can't be as easily toggled off.
--Characters in this state/with said buff should have clear indicator. (In a chaotic PvP fight you kind of have to aggro anyone anyway, which made "rageless fighters" viable.)*
--Entering said state/gaining the buff should probably not be "instant cast" because otherwise people would only do that as precursor to aggroing someone (on the extreme end of things, you would have to stand on your HF to toggle it on.)

(*)Something like "can't aggro" is often proposed as part of some kind of "opt-out" or "safeguard" - if you can trick/force others to aggro you first, this restriction is irrelevant and makes Rage even more of a noobtrap.
