Preserved Food in Salt or Fat & Sea Salt

Throughout time a way to preserve meats and fish was to submerge them in fat filled clay or stoneware pots, and barrels filled with salt.
Technically the need to preserve meats does not exist in haven so one could argue fat preserved meat would be moot. However salted fish is prevalent in many cultures with signature dishes revolving around them.

Also sea salt should be a thing from boiling down sea water in a cauldron.

Yeah yeah, it's very cool and realistic, but we are playing video game and it's must be fun to play. Adding additional tedious mechanics to reach same result is not fun, you can ask what people think about glass making change.

Sea salt is fine, but we already has situation in game where people just give up at all different spieces and just using salt from mines, coz it's much easier and faster to get much higher quility, doubling FEP, even if it's not super optimal spice for all dishes.
