Miner's Satchel

Post by Avalon_N7 »

Why

Several professions already have their own bag for the Pouch slot:
  • Creel (fishing): fish, hooks, lures, shellfish. 6 x 6, slot 9L / 9R.
  • Poacher's Pouch (hunting): hides, meat, bones, fat, small animals, bugs. 6 x 6, slot 9L / 9R.
  • Seedbag (farming): seeds. 3 x 3, slot 9L / 9R.
Miners have no such bag. Everything you dig up takes your main inventory, and ore and stone only stack to 3.

Miner's Satchel
  • Skill: Mining.
  • Made: by hand. Leather x4, Hardened Leather x2, String x6, any Gemstone x1.
  • Unlocked: by discovering any Gemstone. You can only craft the satchel once you have found at least one gem. The gem is not used up in the craft.
  • Slot: Pouch (9L / 9R), like the Creel and Poacher's Pouch.
  • Size: 6 x 6, like the Creel and Poacher's Pouch.
  • Same rules as the Creel: items can only be put in while it is equipped.

What it holds (everything stacks)
  • Any ore
  • Stone
  • Metal bars (Bar of Any Metal)
  • Metal nuggets
  • Clay, any type
  • Bloom

Im gonna reply only because i honestly hope it wont end up in the game. on one hand, for early mining it could be useful. on the other hand, it would just become a nuisance later on.
and how on earth did you come up with adding bloom to a mining satchel?
other than that, i would NEVER want my stones to end up in such separate inventory, even if its just QA. the only things i wouldn't mind ending up in such inventory would be shells, crystals and gems, those are indeed a real clutter, especially while quality hunting (where you turn off stacking) or bulk ore excavating.
Mining might sound straightforward but in reality it has many flavors that split between basic exploratory tunneling (again split between supported and hero/unsupported kinds), vein mining, quality stone hunting, quality dust hunting, quality QA hunting, bulk ore, plain clean up for large area to claim (do go on if you got any other types).
and all of them have different inventory management issues and needs.
slapping a requirement to carry satchel with you that is not adjustable at all and will never fit all of the above requirements is, like I said, plain nuisance. I'd rather carry just two extra jugs of water instead of that.

That seems like something you could fix by changing autodrop settings(if your client has them, hurricane has a good setup for mining)
You're not required to use extra inventory space if you don't want to

one of my friend wouldn't agree with your criticism, and neither would I, as there are miners who would find this much more convenient

Btw bloom is a Stone if you forgot ;)
I’d be interested to hear from you how this bag could be used, because it makes no sense that there are bags for hunters but none for miners for example.

The point of all the ideas I’m proposing is to highlight the situation and prompt some reflection on the fact that the game has stopped receiving updates and lacks both content and interesting ideas. It is sad to see a game that has simply stopped receiving active updates and is also in a state of stagnation.

Why not use the gem in the craft? It could also open up for some cool visuals if the gems size/type is also reflected somehow.

If you don't want to use satchels and prefer having 2 jugs, it's up to you and no one cares tbh.

Even if metal/bloom doesn't go in, it might still be useful and I would use them.

"Mining needs skill". Good one
Next thing someone will say farming is skill based
Find metal, use metal to get more metal. In the meantime beg villy tailor for str gear and cook for str food. Rinse, repeat.

Jorbtar wanted to de-grindify mining by nerfing the supports, but the patch got completely turned back by huge backlash from the playerbase.
