Non-FEP food

I am the next person, who dislikes the idea of the hunger. But I know that you devs love it and you won't change/delete it. You don't want players to mass-eat cupboards of food, but feast few sophisticated dishes. And I fine with it.

Every activity like woodcutting, leveling, building, mining drains a lot of energy. When you are preparing your base you do plenty of stuff, and you are forced to regain your energy - by eating (mostly) shit, which ruins your FEP. In current state you are punishing players for playing, because they have choice: to do stuff and ruin FEP or log out. Don't force us to consider every activity in terms of "How much hunger will it cost me?"

I think non-FEP food may be a solution. It wouldn't give any FEP stats nor food variety, just refill energy. Put it into your balance sieve to set their rarity, effectivness and overall effort to obtain them.

This will allow players build, fight, destroy, progress, discover world, have fun, and when the time comes (i.e. those damn carrot will finally grow up) feast for might and glory specified food, just like you wanted.

I don't think it is quite as easy as you make it out to be. The higher your FEP meter goes the faster i unloads as well, so you do get some reward there. On the other hand your particular satiations start building up, so you certainly have a point.

One of the nice things about this hunger system, we felt, was that it rewarded several different playstyles, and allowed for a multitude of them. We do not have an ideal eating menu in mind.

That being said, yes, I have myself noticed that it is a bit punishing when you lack good food in bulk, and have to gobble down on crap just to restore your energy, and arguably we can do things do alleviate that.

Rats are one of those things, rat on a stick gives a great energy boost with little hunger gain. More stuff like that would be cool.

Bread? like barley flours and water. No fep, only energy? :)

It'S also pretty harsh on people like miners/ect. Once you get up to 100% even efficiency it takes so absolutely long to get back that you fall leagues behind other players. Maybe as part of that you could implement some sort of 'hunger goes down faster with hard labour' thing. So people mining all the time/cutting trees/ect can at least get out of the 25% range on occasion XD

I don't want to have to alt/bot spam but looking at a friend who's got double or more of my stats because they just laze around on their main and get food with alts is kinda disheartening.

So yeah, some sort of non-fep low (or even no maybe?) hunger food that gives energy would be amazing.

I'm not 100% of a hardcore miner, but I've never pushed myself into 25% while eating and hardcore doing terraforming/mining. I've burned 20k stamina in 5 hours and still never hit the 25% marker. Most I've gotten was up to 50% of the 50% bar. This of course is while eating not complete crap, so mostly meat/fish.

That being said, you sit in the 50% marker for the rest of the day because of it and that does suck. Takes so much more FEP to raise anything I want outside strength that I feel bad eating up those resources. I wholly support the concept of energy foods that don't impact FEP/Hunger with this current system.

I've gone down to 10% from mining/chopping etc a few times and I'm playing really casually compared the last couple of worlds, I only just got a pali up this morning. I think no FEP high energy foods are the way forward... Rat on a stick is nice, but hunting around for rats isn't really a long term solution to the issue.

What if you don't live near a rat spawning biome? :P

That would not last long around me. 3-4 exploratory trips tops.
