Wounds too lenient.

Postby Hervarth » Fri Oct 09, 2015 5:53 pm

I think its far too lenient now, the survival part of the game [right at the start when hunting and stuff is a challenge - I'm well aware that some people abuse cliffs and stuff to remove the risk, but thats a different issue] is often the best part.

- some wounds left untreated should get slowly/quickly worse.
- if you get damaged with a treated wound, the poultice/stitches/gauze may need to be reapplied
- treating wounds should require dex & sewing or something.

It would be Fun if you could "win" a fight, kill someone and then have your wretched gore kill you before you could hearth back. People might start bringing medics on raids, if we ever get out of the risk-free noobkilling era

I think there should be wounds that grow more damaging if left untreated. Say for example you recieved a Wretched Gore for 45 damage, it would grow by +1 damage for every minute left untreated, until your character dies from the injury.

Also, this opens the possibility of poisons (poisonous arrows for example) that kill you over time, but that's a subject for another thread.

Wounds that grow worse and kill your char are too much for me. It would be more fair and balanced to just give stat penalties instead.

What comes to mind right now is the Morrowind disease system, that would be great.

I keep hoping that wounds and herbalism become another way to play the game, along with pvp, farming, crafting, and hermitting. Making the wound and disease system interesting and not just punishing would be a good development path in my opinion.

I think this is valid since now wretched gore can be treated, but every minute is a bit OP, maybe every 5 mins?

obviously you haven't seen the slums of haven... most players are not healing wounds and you just sneeze at them and they die... also wounds this world take a lot more time/effort to heal than the prevous. if you are constantly experiencing wounds you already are spending a lot of time healing them....

Well, I suppose the wound should get worse in the same rate as it can get better, fair enough.
