Haven NEEDS more activity on Youtube

You know what this game needs? Some up to date videos.
You write in Haven and Hearth in youtube, you'll get a few videos done over the past 3 years, sure, but after that it's all from like 11 years ago.
Games benefit immensely from youtubers playing through them. My suggestion is pretty simple, if anybody has been thinking about or wanting to start a youtube series of their playthrough, do it. I'm starved for Haven youtube content, and I know others are too.
Besides the usual videos which explain the basics there should be some less known tips shown. Maybe a quick 1st to 3rd day series made by somebody who has played for years that shows off how to get a head start on getting setup. So basically, a more advanced starter guide with a little metaplay sprinkled in, that's what I feel is missing, some middle ground stuff like this that is entertaining for the majority of players both new and old.
We currently have nothing like this. The videos we have on Youtube now consist of a few basic tutorials, 1 or 2 playthroughs (These are great, I wish we had a few other people willing to jump into making these) and then the rest is just PvP shit.

Now I've seen jorb and loftars response when somebody asked them how they felt about asking streamers to play their game and they kind of scoffed at it and wrote it off and to be fair when you say it like that it brings to mind asking idiots like that Ninja guy to play, which would be cringe as fuck, but I don't think this idea should be knocked so easily. Look at somebody like Projarad on Youtube, his Haven & Hearth video has over 1.8 MILLION views and he seemed to vibe with the game (granted this was old haven). I think it could be beneficial to try reach out to somebody like that to make a video, I can think of no better way to immediately get a shit ton of eyes onto your game.

Basically, this is another long winded post but what I'm trying to say is Haven's youtube game is weak as fuck and it's to its detriment.
At the bare minimum we need more people recording their playthroughs in an entertaining way. We're gonna start to have 6 month world cycles coming up so people will hopefully be a bit more experimental and give it a try.
The best thing you can do for Haven now is to make videos on it.

Hell, we've still got 3 weeks before the new world begins, technically if anyone wanted, they could make a new character and record a sort of quick start guide on how to get properly set up in the first few days, what early curios/food they should be aiming for, what they should get done during the first day of playing etc etc in anticipation for the new world beginning.
Videos like that can be done now.

I did ya fuck, Goddam this forum is still a cesspool full of negative shitheels.

OP ignore anyone that cant keep their daddy issues out of the discussion. This game needs all the POSITIVE publicity it can get, and anyone willing to throw effort into making a youtube series shoudl be lauded. Dwarf Fortress is a labor of love just like this and launch made them millionaires. Its important and shouldnt be limited to 3 sentence comments. Get fukked grumgrumganoe

W15 had a few good Let's Plays and some really well-edited guides. This will happen again with W16.

Unfortunately HnH isn't very beginner friendly. Even if they could afford to sponsor content creators, at best they could deliver a lame day one first impression.
It's not streamer-friendly either. Players make it their goal to grief less experienced players. Especially when they can watch their reaction on stream.
It makes sense not many want to create gameplay videos.

However HnH is absolutely great for Machinima. We have these little trailers for each World reset. Make multiple episodes out them and tell a story to get more people interested in the game.

Salem tried it with "Salem Away". I want a web series with 24 episodes for HnH. Sprucecap Adventures.

Not a gameplay video, but two vtubers (basically anime girls controlled by real women) once had this 20 minute conversation about Haven.
I still have it unlisted because the original VOD was deleted and I was supposed to 100% confirm it doesn't contain anything, the people in it want to keep hidden:

TL;DR - More people need to step up and make youtube videos/series of Haven to increase exposure. Visual guides are more interesting and effective than written guides (Evident as seen here where people don't want to read ¦] ).
All videos don't need to be informative in nature. A lot of people just wanna watch people's journey through the game for entertainment.

Precisely. Word of mouth only gets you so far, people want to see videos for themselves. People also find enjoyment playing the game and then watching videos of other people playing the game alongside them.
I'd argue that outside of the few good playthroughs some of our players have produced, the other videos show the game in too negative a light. Like I'll be honest, I'm not really all that fond of the PvP videos. They're kinda boring (literally just running for miles chasing someone with the graphics on the lowest setting, some shitty music playing, trees and all other flora turned off, just looks ugly as shit) even when you know how PvP works. Now try to imagine how shit it looks for people who have no idea what is going on.
The videos that will have the most positive impact are full playthroughs from beginning to end and tutorial-style/informative videos. People who aren't into PvP still like to metagame, I bet there's a lot of people out there who would like to see somebody who knows what they're doing starting the game and getting established in an efficient and safe way and letting people know what are some optimal early game goals you should work towards, good curios and food to be on the lookout for early on etc etc.

They'll do the game a world of good if people could type in Haven and Hearth into Youtube and find a lot of videos of that nature.
Right now it's so unbearably sparse. I guarantee that the way it is right now is having a negative impact on the game.

Alfrety did it this world I think, but he got slammed multiple times. I feel late world is the best time to start a series tbh.
