Project Hearth confirmed ....
I don't think we ever discussed this ...

Thoughts?

This was a thing in legacy, you were able to craft map, so map chunk you were currently staying was added to the map you're crafting. Was extremely unpopular.
In new haven they introduced built-in client map, that basicly saves all chunks you visited, so you can review it any time.

So what's the difference from client saved map will be in hand-crafted map?

Hold on, hold on, there’s been a misunderstanding – I’m actually referring to the game world itself, specifically one that’s handcrafted rather than procedurally generated, like Project Zomboid, for example.

It all depends on the implementation.
I've had this idea before, and I think many others have too. Create and exchange world maps within the game. A map could become a valuable trade item. It's more natural than exporting and importing maps.
But it all comes down to implementation.
I also saw a thread suggesting a tabletop "tactical" map, in which Jorb responded, "Agree that a strategic/political map in one form or another would probably be useful!"

I think the difference is that an in-game map is an exchangeable item and enhances immersion more than importing a map through the settings.

How is that possible? The player will draw everything manually?

Jeez ... By the devs.

@Jorb, You've got a bit of Boar Tusk Snuff left?

Does anyone know what I mean?

It could be an opportunity to shape the world to our liking... by introducing some interesting possibilities... we should give it some thought.
Expanding and improving it bit by bit, step by step...

Of course, it would take a lot of work; we’ll have to see if there’s enough time to devote to it.

Tbh I think what they've managed to accomplish with the procedural generation is pretty insane.
I'm not sure if anyone's noticed, but there seems to be a logic with the fluid flow in the new riverbed biome in 16.1, and this is speculative, but I hypothesize there is a correlation between height map and swamp/ocean/mountain generation which is actually semi-predictable and pretty awesome.

I don't see what we'd gain by throwing that out for a static map that is hand painted.
I'd rather see that time devoted to further improvements to map gen - Especially because I'm a proponent of shorter wipe timers.
