Really love the game but hunger (not energy) is for me the main problem : doing nothing your hunger bar goes down, which is good for FEP bonus. Doing something, you use stamina and energy, then you need to eat to refill. So your hunger bar will raise, and it will be hard to get FEP bonuses. That leads to much people doing nothing / the less possible, walking speed2 everytime, whatever to not use stamina... and eat rats and rats and rats again until the hunger bar is down. I think it's perfect against bots, but the problem is that it hits the producing player as well. There is something broken that needs to be fixed, producing shouldn't be a disadvantage. It's not fun always thinking how to not use energy when you have plenty of food to refill it, but this broken mechanism prevents you to do so. Active and productive player shouldn't be nerfed like that. Maybe just skip the FEP bonuses so that we don't have to intentionnaly starve to get 300% or 200% bonus. That's absurd.

I hope something gets done so that we can produce and make things as we want as long as we have food to sustain the effort and not be nerfed vs someone who just do nothing.

Sorry for bad english i hope it's understood.

You can't have gluttonous excess of food eating = attribute increase and meaningful starvation in the same game.

I agree, hunger needs a fix, and i don't qet your point 7less, of course you can have both in the same game.
In the current state, people i know just login to swap curios and check their hunger bar.. or reroll alts.
Something is really broken.

I understand the system to fight against botting, and it's well thinked. But it goes against players who produce "a lot", like bots would.

Players try not to eat much so they have a decent FEP bonus, so they do nothing or almost nothing so they don't have to eat "for energy", only for stats.
If you work too much you eat too much and then get a FEP malus (25%). That's why ppl eat rats, so they still can do something that uses stamina (everything almost) without too much hunger%.

This is a major problem here to me. The system is still good i think but something needs to be done so producing and being active doesn't bring a disadvantage vs doing nothing.
That's not fun or what the game should go to.
When i'm thinking "hey i will make a lot of wood stockpiles for future" i shouldn't think "well ... no, i can't, i will eat too much, better to do nothing".

+that leads to think "i'll make a slave alt to work and eat a lot while my main can do nothing and eat for stats". That's not what was intended? right?

Idk. It doesn't feel that critical to me. I guess it's a problem if you're anal about your min-maxing.

I've started taking the odd starvation damage from mining. Digging really puts you in the crapper too. Spending time hunting and looking for curios however, lets me still end up in the +200% range for feps and get the food to continue, though I'm not sure its necessarily sustainable unless I stop playing as much as I have been.

Well... i'm sorry but it's not, maybe you don't see why. Maybe it's ok for 1 or 2h /day, mostly looking for curios and not doing hard work, because you don'"t lose much energy and your hunger bar drops when you're offline.

I'm talking about hunger and not energy once again. Energy is ok, you work you use stamina you refill and you lose energy, then you need to eat, i'm ok with that.
You can't deny that when doing some actions, you'll have to eat and raise hunger bar. Ok?
So soon or later if you play much, your hunger bar will get to the point when you have 25% FEP. You need to eat 4x more to get 1 stat point. And then you'll be even more "not hungry".
How to get back to a decent FEP bonus? How can i be more hungry? ====> you have to do nothing and wait.

I'm sorry but there's actually something broken here.

For exemple yesterday we made a big survey for future village. Lot of soil to dig. Everybody ends up with hunger bar "too high" because we had to eat a lot. Now we have to wait for days to get back to good FEP bonus. We have to eat only rats if we want to actually PLAY and do something.

So once again your system goes against players who produce / use stamina a lot. What can i do if i have a good playtime and want to produce things? like food? I think i could do what i want as long as i have some food to cover the energy expense... and not being nerfed because i play! Or maybe i should get back to freeplay 1h/day?

Btw i don't like answers like yours, sorry if i just want to play the game i paid for, and not fucking waiting for a hunger bar to go down doing nothing. thats not what i call "going anal about minmaxing". You could have tell "it's already balanced because ... (you lose more hunger when actively playing for exemple - which is maybe true but not enough). If you think it's balanced that active people have to eat rats and not the other food they have, to keep doing stuff without disadvantage... well ok... your game.

+ i don't get the point to have a bonus when starved and a malus when full. Is the logical goal to be starved?

What i think is your system is perfect against botting but you did not think about this side effect that some people play and produce a lot and will be impacted as bots are.

I'd say that we basically need more foods that are high on energy and low on hunger/FEPs, so we have ways to do extended physical labor without stunting our attribute growth.

I guess there might be breads and other things in the baked goods section and other processed foods that fit, but there is a lot of work involved in establishing a village, before you have much in the way of farms available.
