On the subject of inheritence...

Its all about added risk.

Don't want to lose your claim, then manage it properly. Keep it safe and don't expand it needlessly. The new system also allows people to transfer claims, which is a good thing.

Don't want to lose the 10 million LP you have in your main. Maybe its a bad idea to raid/grief some lonely hermit just because you stumble across their hideout when you're low on HHP. Risk vs reward - not a bad thing

BTW, it might be overlooked, but you also inherit Yeomanry which means everyone essentially keeps a base 4000 LP. For top-end players that's nothing, but for the new/casual its a decent keep.

Not if you take the most trivial steps to avoid it.

Or if the enemy takes the extra step to stop you and steal your claim :D

This isn't true, at least not for me.

I guess you can renew your claims bond.

My mistake, sorry.

I'm not asking to remove permadeath. I was just saying it might not hurt for the skull of your Ancestor to carry a little more weight.

Allows you to trade claims, or give them away, or at all transfer them between characters.

So why not just make them tradeable while still keeping the claim on inheritance?

That'll empower the raiders. Most deaths are to other players not PvE once we're through the starting 2-3 weeks.
