The extent of my proposal is a method of organization that creates a bonus to those that join, and an additional skill with supernatural power.
It's not that I think the system is trash. It sounds like it could be a good idea - if the devs would do it! I'm only saying it looks like politics, works like politics, talks like politics. My only real criticism is with the label.
I would be a might miffed with jorbtar if they implemented a bird that looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, swims like a duck, tastes like a duck, but which they oddly decided to label "chicken"...
I wouldn't mind them implementing a system like this. It could be real cool for pacifists like meself. "Religion" is just the wrong name of it - especially given the setting.
EDIT: As to why I think the devs wouldn't implement it, however you name it... my first thought is that it would seem to demand a change in the foods, which give every other skill but not this "theology" skill you mention...
My second is: you would also need to add at least charms. What would charms look like? Any answer you or the devs would give might work. But it would be rather boring for everyone to be wearing the same exact symbol, just with different words or colours on it. Making even dozens of unique symbols would be a chore on top of all the other chores they've yet to do. Anything in between would not be particularly satisfactory either way.
Third, if this is anything like any of the other societal mechanisms in the game - blot, symbel, lawmaking and village-making, and the rest - there will definitely be more than just the one functional thing necessary. There would be flavour items, too - robes, hats, maybe even shoes. I suspect they think they have enough on their plate without a major update.
It might be a good idea... I'd say resurrect it in a few months, at least. Maybe the devs will have their house in order by then.
