I like the way it is implemented, when your sword is in your hand on the character sheet it should appear in your hand on your character model.

Sword sheathed, or sword in hand, the fact that it's held at a weird frozen angle is what seems off to me.

If there was some arm motion so it looked a little more natural this would be fine.

Hey, maybe this is the soluton to the 0.05 second chop thing? Like, sword in non-combat stance is put in the sheath, and when you enter the combat there is an animation of drawing it that delays the possibility to chop immediately. As all the players will be doing this, this will not affect the balance... Maybe with hunting a bit, but hunting is broken anyways.

I'm strongly considering just making it so that characters start with a certain cooldown when they enter combat (and adding the same cooldown when creating a new combat-relation).

Would it be possible to just make a starting defense bar instead? I think just starting with a cooldown would just feel kind of shitty, especially while fighting animals. Or just make it so offensive moves can't be used immediately upon entering combat but defenses can.

Going a bit far away here, but for those that enjoy the "0.05 second chop", some sort of sneak or surprise attack mechanic could be implemented. If you engage normally, the "cooldown" (or whatever solution to insta-attacks) would be used and no one would 0.05 second chop :P But if the person manages to "sneak" on the other character, they could initiate combat without said limitation.

It could be somewhat based around Stealth, giving it a proper usefulness *hint hint* :D
