I'm strongly considering just making it so that characters start with a certain cooldown when they enter combat (and adding the same cooldown when creating a new combat-relation).

Would it be possible to just make a starting defense bar instead? I think just starting with a cooldown would just feel kind of shitty, especially while fighting animals. Or just make it so offensive moves can't be used immediately upon entering combat but defenses can.
