I don't think the argument is to make it a staple again, but to make it viable to go out and about again to break up the monotony of village life without wasting subscription time.

Will consider.

I prefer going out and foraging and hunting to mining smelting and making op crafted metal curios... but I guess mining is harder to bot...

It shouldn't be the bread and butter for anyone, it should be a choice, regardless of the stage (early, end) of the game. Now foraging is almost non-existent apart from what ramones said, highq insects, bats and glimmermoss. While making it not worth it to bot they also made it worthless for legit players..

I don't know, I mean I'm speaking for myself but I've grown bored of this curio system. I can't be arsed crafting tons of curios, and foraging for them is useless. Perhaps it might be worth considering another, alternative and actually fun way of getting curiosities..

My char is about 2 - 3 months old. and until last Saturday I had found 1 bolete only but after Saturday and working on a camp for 2 days bricks, mining, mine holes, collecting hq water and clay and dirt etc. I went out and found 1 flotsam 1 bluebell 2 boletes and 1 edel all in one day. Very strange and seems to be directly related to work on your character?

My view point is not make them easier to find (not being biased as I have found hardly any) but to make them a lot more worth finding because finding a flotsam which gives 3k lp is the same as glimmers? Honestly they need to be buffed.

Just my 2 cents. Good day sirs'

I think fates have great potential. They just have to be used in new and creative ways. :)

But then again, forage bots broke my heart back in legacy, so I don't know what to say about that.

Yes, I totally agree with ya, Sevenless.
I also enjoy foraging very much in the past worlds, I always like to roam around the world and find goodies. I didn't use bots, I cannot really say it is because of morale reasons, but it's actually because I don't know how to use bots. So, yes, I admit foraging bots can be a big problem.
But I still think we should make foraging worthwhile a bit, Loftar. Why can't we just add more foragebles that are not as good as glimmermoss, edels, pearls, flotsams, but are at least on the same level as barkboat, straw dolls, clay chariots, so foraging bots are not so significantly game breaking since straw dolls and clay chariots are easy to obtain so foraging players and manufacturing players aren't so different.

The problem is that there aren´t that many crafted curios that are on the same level as barkboat, straw dolls and clay chariots, those are some of the best crafted curios, losing only to advanced metal curios such as tin soldiers, tiny abacuses and bronze steeds.

Therefore if you do add a lot of good forageables all the botters will have an infinite supply of very good curios, while the rest of the server will be underpowered in comparisson, because no matter how much you play, how good you are or even how much you dedicate yourself to the foraging task, YOU WILL NEVER BE MORE EFFICIENT THAN A BOT.

Before adding many more very good forageables we would need a lot more good crafted curios that are at least at the same level as the forageables you are adding.

Was it really the foraging that people enjoyed rather than the exploration and the chance to encounter other people?
