I think it's more fun if you can never be sure whether there are people who're much better than yourself.

If anything, I would think it more fun to present statistics about, for instance, your own characters (pieces of ore mined, number of curiosities studied, or whatever), and I may add such in the future; but I'm less fond of global stats.


I think some of the more "fun" global stuff would be cool, in the same theme as what everyone is eating.

Amount of damage dealt by each animal in the last week,
Amount of each animal killed by hearthlings,
Top 10 Plants harvested/planted etc,
Top 10 curiosities by total study time , total lp given e.g.

Curiosity | aggregated study time
cone cow| 1200456 hours

Curiosity | aggregated LP learnt
dandelion | 46509875445 LP

total trees chopped in the last week...

Heaps of fun stuff that doesn't really generate any meaningful insight
