Maybe you unlock a bigger beard/ponytail the longer you're subbed, and get cosmetic supporter hats

My big speal with the current model is it drives away potential new players, I had 3 people join the game with me, and all of them quit as soon as one of us found out about the sub system. Which kind of makes me not want to sub if I can't play with friends.

Also "pay 2 not wait" is a pay 2 win and pay to play system rolled into one mechanic, I will not support such a thing. Even worse is I have never felt compelled to bot in the last few worlds, but now I feel like I need bots to micromanage my time, even more so I need alts to gather/build as my precious allotted hours per week can't be used to explore, which was always my favorite thing to do in this game, simply because I am too busy micromanaging silk, leather, crops, ect.

Love the game, i'd even buy it for my friends for the $15 verified account costs, but spending $10 a month, only to quit, then come back and a new world is spawned would just make me upset.

Do you realize that they need multiple thousand dollars per month so two can live in expensive sweden. They wont get that much only by selling ponytails.

You do realize that the annual sub is $72 which is $6/month - more than reasonable IMHO. Money is just an excuse, if someone really wants to play they can do multiple free accounts at 7hrs each per week. Yes it might be more work, but if you want free you need to adjust for it.

While current price model sucks on some levels I don't believe any other model would work better at the moment if Jorbtar want it as a sustainable income source.

This is a niche game with low player base. You simply can't get enough revenue with cosmetics from such player base and flow of new players is minuscule for one time payment to work.

Reducing subscription cost is tricky as well.
Judging by my custom client downloads plus rough estimate for other customs and the default there is maybe 1500 active players right now.
With a bit of very rough guesstimating we can see that *could* *theoretically* make 15k a month. Let's just assume longer subs, higher tier subs and non paying players cancel each out for the sake of this example.
Now if you half the subs price, how much effect will that make on the player base? Maybe another 500 - people who couldn't afford it before and perhaps a few new potential customers. But with half the price that would actually make less revenue!
What I am trying to say is "one does not simply reduce the price" without it possibly having adverse consequences for the business.
There is a very fine sweetspot which needs to reached for the model to be profitable for the business. And let's face it it doesn't matter if you me or someone else thinks the price is too high. It all comes down to Jorbtar's monthly amount of coke and hookers revenue expectation. If the price was too high to a point that no one is willing to pay it I think they would have already readjusted it.

The only possibility which I think won't have much negative nor probably positive effect is reducing the subs by a buck or two max.
Other experiments with for example reducing it by 50%, which some believe will automatically bring meaningful amount of new players, would be probably a very bad idea at the current stage.

I don't think reducing the price will help AT ALL. Some people will not pay no matter what and some people will not give the game a try if it's percieved that it cannot be played for free.

I'll skip the sub issue, that's a necessary evil for the game to progress.

The belief system change doesn't seem that major to me, the sliders are now skills.

I rather like the new graphics and I love the rotating camera. I do wish elevation meant something.

I haven't heard a dev comment on the sling, but they are re-adding items from legacy at a pretty good rate so if it's planned, it shouldn't be too long. Probably being held up by the combat overhaul planned.

Horses are a work in progress and taming/breeding them is coming.

The hunger system in the beginning I found easy to get FEP, hard to keep from starving. :) The new foods recently added (steak & tubers) should make a huge difference for new players with small farms.
