RL free time reduced by capitalism and older age?

FYI: you might not be alone with that perspective, but you are by far not everyone.

i want static defense in the game, i don't want to have to worry when real life calls and i have to be away for a few days at a time.

the npc should be only to uphold the 'law' of the area or claim. once it starts to do other things then it takes the place of other people in game

I understand the demands of real life calling people away. I also realize this is a multiplayer game. You may be away but the game does not stop and should not. Yes we are at risk but that's part of the game. The only thing I will and have asked for in the past was a vacation mode. A setting you could turn on if you have no crime penalties active. It would last a set period of time and could be activated only once every so often, to avoid abuse. That being said vacation mode could only be applied to you and say a container like a chest or cabinet. This way you do not lose everything. But nothing more.

Real life may call us but the game is still here. Its not the games fault or anyone else we are not here. It would be unfair to other players to artificially maintain things. Play the game or do not. Either way the clock must keep ticking.

I had a similar idea I've been entertaining, but refrained from posting it because I felt it goes against what haven sort of is.
The main diff is that my idea focused on the idea of animated golems of some sort that could be set to do certain task.
The golems however would have to be powered by a characters blood sacrifice(some of your shp and maybe hhp) and by giving it some of your characters own energy. The stats for the golem would be 1/2 of the person who is currently powering it, or something along those lines.
The golems would have different teers affecting the rate they use energy, the speed they do things at, and the tasks they are capable of doing. Clay golems for example would be rather slow and only capable of simple task like farming.

Now we slowly come to something that actually makes enough sense that it has a slight chance to make it ingame.

Please no.

Some reasons already came up, I have another for you. It would mean they have to code pathing, bots, interactions with the thrall etc... They could use that time to make 1000 better things instead, AIs and pathing would take a substantial amount of time before being not-too-bad and probably create a lot of bugs / possible bugs / exploits.

I'd rather see some things done by players on client's side (e.g. bot getting 100% of ressources, not costing any extra $) and see better content. Plus it would be done anyway, thrall or not.

Just start a new character and let it run scripts? ¦]
