Just so you know: like, 5% of lp/day for a developed character depends on foraged/picked up curios. I myself play as a hermit. The only forageable curios that I learn non-stop are Fireflies (have a decent q node near my base) and Glimmermoss. Everything else is crafted.
If anything, think about forageable curios being non-tradeable to other characters. You found it - you eat it; you cant - you drop it, it disappears. This would be a viable version of what you're suggesting, but this would bring the whole curiosity system down, requiring weeks and weeks of balancing them back.
