Hard, difficult and pretty well optimized ;)

Yeah good idea also make toadstool curios edible like in old haven, so i could eat it to see what happens or to get energy for taking a little bit of damage (during early game, first few days)

they will feed some to the slave-alts, just to make sure you have not poisoned it.

you can poison only some of them

eat all cheese to check if its poisoned and lose non - poisoned pieces?

btw poisonous berries / mushrooms is fine, but random trusted nabs could kill someone a lot stronger than them with ease if they will be able to posion CRAFTED food so it would be unbalanced and op would be better to limit it to berries and mushrooms

I think this would be disastrous for new players who don't have reliable access to food.

But, it is for players, you are right when you say haven is not simple, being that complication is Jorbs middle name - not that I ever implied it was mind you, you just took the word 'simply' and reinvented it's context in the comment, :P , - still, implementing mechanics to drive even more players away does seem pretty hardcore ..... :)

Creating an overcomeable obstacle isn't driving people away. Not H&H target audience at least. Just sayin'.

Creating more issues for new players does do that, with the injury system now a lot of players simply create a new char when they get reduced stats with no way of healing themselves for some considerable time, when they get bored of doing that they quit.

I know that poisoning is a popular idea and have already acknowledged I would be in the minority being against it ... if it does ever get implemented then there is going to have to be a lot of thought that goes into it to save it from being just another time consuming and boring mechanic to get over as a newbie ... death is an even worse outcome obviously, healing yourself is not such a regular or difficult event once you have an established base of some kind but for a new player it is debilitating right at a time when you need as much stats as you can get and are trying to get yourself into some kind of stable position.

Erm... what? How little invested should one be in his character to just abandon it like that? That doesn't sound right. Maybe some casuals would do such a thing, but they wouldn't stay much longer anyways, injury or not.

I fail to see how implementing edible berries with negative effects would push someone to eat them until he can't even perform simple tasks a newbie usually do. I mean, if eating one Nightshade berry makes you sick and lowers your PER by 1 for 10 minutes, why would you eat 10 more and then lie in a corner blind for half a day?

As a compromise, we could have "bad" berries paired with "good" ones to cancel the negative effect or make it heal significantly faster.
