Mm, but what would be a good way to restore it if not the same 1:1 ratio of stone/brick to tile...

Not sure how feasible this would be to implement, but a mossy overlay texture could be applied first to unclaimed pavings over a very long period of time, then those could later be susceptible to decay. If a new claim is placed over the mossy paving, then the process could reverse and lose the mossy overlay.

Abandoned places can be fun, but sometimes they're just an eyesore that someone tried to make and gave up on, more like graffiti.

Agree that mossy, overgrowing and cracking pavement would be sweet.
