I played around in Brodgar w7. It was getting to where you couldn't find a tree within 5 minutes walking distance of the place, so I started planting trees at random to slow the creep of the forest decaying into grassland. (Felt like using a teacup to bilge out the Titanic, though.) I think it was w7... don't think it was w6.... Then again, by that point, half of Brodgar was abandoned, so was a moot point.

You could strip the forests of trees, but you can also collect the seeds and replant them out in the wilderness, maybe even make those "rare trees" a bit more common. Up to you, sir, how you play the game.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I think it should be possible to directly plant tree seeds into the ground, for a (depending on some skills) 25%-75% chance of sprouting a q10 tree (regardless the quality of the seed). With some distance check to the next tree so it can't be abused to generate tree walls.

That's a nice idea granger. Saplings could be made easier to kill as well.

By W8 we had an organized tree-replanting team that tried very hard to constantly plant trees around the city.
It was only mildly successful lol.
