I think combat needs a change. It doesn't feel very dynamic or strategic.

Wrote my own suggestion here.

Replace menhirs with regional resources, put limits on realm shape.

A 'shove' option.

If someone is commiting a minor crime, like trying to break your claim or hearthfire early on as a grief alt, you can simply shove them to interrupt it.

I started this world with a bunch of friends, they quit because we couldn't get a claim up, they were new to the game, but were completely, and rightfully pissed off on the fact that they could be griefed without logically being able to stop the griefer.

I am all for having an open system where you can break others stuff, as long as you have the option to defend said stuff.

I'd like to see the LP cost on rage and theft be increased substantially.
In the first few days of the world, it's quite easy to quickly focus on unlocking these and then brutally griefing all your nabby neighbors with impunity.

I'd like deeper cave levels that act more as labyrinths or dungeons than areas for mining. The way I imagine them is that you would create the entrance to the labyrinths by creating a minehole on level 5, which would connect you to the first level of the labyrinth, but acting more as a teleport into it and not serving as a way out. From there you have to explore it while attempting to find goodies, not die, and find entrance points to lower labyrinth levels. The labyrinth itself would be fairly small compared to the actual world, to increase the chance of running into others who are dungeoning. To top it off the labyrinth would shift/reset frequently. Not sure how leaving it would work, maybe specific spots would let you leave, or hearthing could just work.

It would serve as a end game area of dangerous exploration, boss fights/raids, area for player interaction, and places for resources and possibly unique items to appear in.

Maybe not the place for an idea to this degree but hey, its what I think the game needs before a reset.

I'd like to see the resources more randomized and unable to be claimed. If the goal is to force conflict, then they shouldn't be locked behind a 16 hour siege gate. I remember bringing down a claim on one last world and it took me like a whole day. No one showed up, but it still required me to be nearby just in case anything happened.

My biggest beef with siege in general is that the offender has to be active the entire duration which is anywhere from 14-16 hours depending how efficient you are and whether or not they use brimstone to recharge their claim. So you're either forced to hope you can rush down the claim during inactive hours and then hold it for the last few with your posse or try to make your own siege camp claim nearby and hit it from behind your soaked walls.

This dreadful ailment's heavy toll;
The spleen is what the English call it,
We call it simply, Russian soul.”

An idea to consider: Tedium, a Feature.

For me it's the special resources also, I'd like to see them being unable to be claimed even though Jorb has stated that was his intention in order to cause conflict .. but as others keep saying siege mechanics are such that no-one has the time or can be bothered to do so.

Personally I just disagree with them being claimed full stop, the reality is that the factions scout out and find the most important ones at the begining of the world, claim and wall them and then that is the end of that. I think there would be far more conflict around them if they were left unclaimed, with the timers on them now players know when to come to collect and that is far more interesting in terms of competing for them than having them locked behind claims and walls.

There have been some really good threads on this subject but after a 10 minute search I can't find the ones I wanted ... there was one that suggested having them move around, despawning after being picked and then spawning somewhere else, I quite liked that idea. Anyway, I may look for the thread again later and then edit it in.
