Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

didn't read your idea op but i think that an act of surrender could be a toggle to open up a complete execution for anyone who surrenders, possibly even ritual suicide, not for the shame of defeat but the shame of surrender

never retreat and never surrender, ever. especially if you're a shitty nab with 30 ua and just learned how to kill a boar. this game is about swinging your willy.

no, dying is a part of this game from beginning

Is "being part since beginning" sufficient for keeping in game?

The suggestion is morally and mechanically cancer.

in salem there is a skill that allows you to offer a ransom that teleports you to their hearth fire equivalent when you are knocked out

Instead of adding convoluted system like this, just add a way to practice PvP/fleeing superior opponent easily without having to risk a developed character. Of course even I was able to come up with a concept of rage alt village where you divide your group into two, first group takes one or more rage alts and starts fleeing from the rest. You'd leave actual scents and actual wounds, but it would be just rage alts in an alt village.

However, what if there was Valhalla-style simulation where you could it without all the hassle of building a village and creating/feeding 10 alts?

the game is not about learning to fight, it does not involve skill, it is about having ridiculously higher stats

why would you need 10 alts to practise running?

Are you sure? Snail KO'd me once with a 780ish statted alt vs my 2.8k str/1.2k agi/1.5k con or something at the time and we had equal gear. xd
This is borderline impossible to lose for someone that knows what he is doing is my guess but skill plays way more of a role than people give it credit for. Stats and gear matter too but not as much.

and if you are ridiculously outstatted then, yea stats matter obviously but it's not terribly hard to get into a 0.5x range of most people even if you are a hermit

Imo this idea has at least some potential, drop all shit and destroy hf when surrender so you get a spawn in the wild, doesn't need to be as complicated as op suggests.
but to make combat a bit more reasonable for most people I'd suggest a more straight forward food system and implement more possibilities to learn combat.
Most people you catch in the wild don't even try to run, it's retarded.

(edited becasue some numbers were wrong)

Admittedly forgot to include in my post, idea was I would have an entire 10-people group to train with, account sharing the alts as needed.
