Mega quick guide for you:
------------------------------------------
If you are melee (more points in melee than in UA, better for PvE):
Image - your Stance (equip shield please). If you use 2h weapon Image
Attack:
1) Spam Image until red is 40+, then spam Image
2) Spam Image until yellow 40+, then Image (or just press sideswipe more).
Defense:
Image Green
Image Blue
Image Red and Yellow
------------------------------------------
If you are UA (better for PvP):
Stance: Image you could switch to Image for better defense (but you will decrease your attack potential, offense is the best defense).
If you have weapon, just use Image to lower enemy red, get initiative by Image or Image (if you have some points in melee). Guess main attack move? Yes, Image

If you don't have weapon:
Get weapon. Until spam Image
Defense:
Same.
------------------------------------------
Remark: Points in your deck affect only amount of openings, that move increase or decrease (for Image it will decrease CD). So put maximum on defenses and openings attacks, and 1 point on damage attacks.

It's wild how you've been on this forum for so long but you never see questions like this deescalate into 8 retards telling the newbie to go fuck themselves cause "muhh combat, you played for 5 minutes and want to rework the entire game, learn the mechanics first loser, etc."
And then 4 other obnoxious retards crawl out of their holes to argue against the first 8 retards about how pvp is broken and the game is broken and how jorb and loftar should delete pvp, just cause they couldn't learn basic pvp in the 12 years they've been playing while the first 8 retards learned it in 3 weeks.

I'm not ridiculing the OP, I just wanted the first group of 8 retards to not come in here and turn this thread into another useless 10-page dumb argument, just cause that's always the trigger for the other 4 mouth breathing orangutans to come in and cry for 10 more pages like they always do.

Tbh, after being around for 11 years or whatever now combat's probably in the best place it's ever been. I don't say this as a person involved involved/skilled in PvP, I'm basing that off the level of butthurt I see about the combat system from PvPers on the various forums and talking to the couple I know. There have been some pretty bad years for pvp butthurt, but I haven't seen that in a while.

Not saying it's perfect, but we have relevant stats and vestiges of the movement combat system rolled together into a skill based system. The major criticisms seem to be aimed at the gameplay systems around said stats/movement right now. The core PvP system under that seems the most solid we've ever had.

Well.. nice to know. Thx for info. :)

PS: Bdw.. was not saying system should be totally different, you know. As I did explain a bit later, in my second reply, just had idea that countering exact openings should be more effective (taking less dmg). (more explanation in that replay, tho)
Did not know some ppl will immediately see my thoughts, as some child lack of efforts, to understand mechanics. Ok.. did not open many many moves.. true.. but its just point of view of some new 1 month player.

So.. since I really love the game... did jump on forum, where are criticism and ideas (hoping its right place), to give something, you know....

By the way, as you can see its a good basic guide and there are many tricks you will learn later on and also you have to check on evey animal mechanic for understanding how to hunt/defeat them and not die trying(boars, lynx, wolves, bears, mooses,...) and when not to aproach an animal by melee directly(mammoths, whales, trolls...)
